Terrible 2's???

Are you kidding me?? The 2's were nothing compared to the 3's!!! We have had at least 2 ( a day) full blown, throw myself on the floor, kick, scream, snot running down the nose, choking because I am crying and screaming so hard meltdowns a day for about 5 days now!!! Over nothing of course. Today was because I asked Ethan if he wanted to walk in the rain and go to the mailbox with me, he said no, so I went on my own. Well, how was I supposed to know he really meant yes?!?!? So throw himself on the ground and was thrashing and screaming!!!! 45 minutes later he was able to speak again.. SERIOUSLY!!! I do think a lot has to do with him being tired. He has been getting up very very early, for him. (I know early for him is way late for others :) ) But, when you are used to 9:00am and wake up at 7:30.. That extra 90 minutes is a lot for a 3 year old and his mommy! I just hope they stop soon. It's going to be a long summer if they don't!!

March 8th, 2006

Hands down the best day of my life!! It seems impossible to think it's been 3 years today that my baby boy was handed to me. After years of wondering if I ever was going to be a mommy ended... Oh and boy did... Right away all kinds of tests started. Mainly, how to stop a screaming baby!?? We sorta failed miserably since he screamed for about 2 hours non stop, then a short nap in the car home and then some more screaming ALL night and for many nights after that... But, here we are 3 years later more in love, if that's at all possible, every single day.

We had a great day today. Ethan asked for his favorite breakfast. An onion, ham and cheese omelet, with friend potatoes. The only funny thing is he eats only the inside. He loves ham with cheese and onions and can do without the egg. I know the first time I don't make the egg part, he will want it.. It's the funniest thing. Then we took a ride to Princeton, and walked on the main street with the Princeton campus on the other side of the road. Ted mentioned that we were really just scouting out schools for Ethan. We found this cute little candy/ice cream shop, stopped had a snack and continued just walking around. We ended the day with dinner at Joe's Crab Shack, which was a bit disappointing since they didn't have Ethan's favorite dish, shrimp scampi. He had to settle for crab legs instead.

So, since I mentioned Princeton University, it gets thumbs up from me. Still close to home, a very diverse community, beautiful scenery, did I mention still close to home?!?!
Ethan really does amaze us everyday with what he says and what he does. His latest accomplishment is writing his name. He can also type his name on the computer. The best part is he LOVES to practice. He is constantly "doing paperwork" Today really was the first day he wrote all the letters in order without any help at all. He was playing at the table and then came to show me... Of course a picture to document this was in order...
I see a Princeton University application someday being filled out!!!
